Repairs & Board Replacement
The existing floor had multiple damaged and missing boards. We then followed our process that included;
- Carried out structural repairs where needed
- Sourced reclaimed pine floorboards from local reclamation yards
- Carefully matched and installed replacement boards to blend seamless
Due to age and natural movement, there were significant gaps throughout the floor. Instead of using fillers that can fail over time, we:
- Installed solid pine slithers into the gaps
- Created a long-lasting, traditional solution
- Improved both appearance and insulation
Professional Sanding
The entire floor was sanded using Lagler dust-free machinery, ensuring:
- Minimal disruption to the home
- A smooth, even surface
- Full removal of old finishes and contaminants
Finishing
To achieve the client’s desired look:
- Applied Bona Prime Amber to bring warmth and depth to the wood
- Sealed with Bona Mega Matt for a durable, natural-looking finish
This combination enhances the grain while maintaining a subtle, non-glossy appearance.
The Result
The transformation restored the original character of the Victorian property while giving the floors a fresh, clean, and durable finish.
The warm tones, combined with the filled gaps and repaired boards, created a seamless and authentic look throughout both the room and hallway.
